Pato O’Ward earned his first podium and his first victory of the 2026 season at Mid-Ohio, holding off teammate Christian Lundgaard. They began 1-2, and completed 1-2, with O’Ward pulling off a daring cross on pole-sitter Lundgaard partway by the race. Slightly below a second separated them on the checkered flaag.
That is O’Ward’s tenth profession win, tying him with Pete DePaolo and Jimmy Vasser for fortieth on the all-time wins record.
Kyle Kirkwood completed third, main the way in which for Andretti International, adopted Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Rinus VeeKay in fourth, and championship chief Alex Palou in fifth for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Will Energy, Christian Rasmusen, David Malukas, Josef Newgarden, and Nolan Siegel stuffed out the rest of the highest ten.
Caio Collet led the way in which for the 2026 rookie class, ending eleventh. The race went utterly caution-free with no incidents.
