Lewis Hamilton took a cheeky jab at 1997 Method 1 champion Jacques Villeneuve forward of the Canadian Grand Prix. The dig got here whereas the seven-time champion mirrored on the enduring legacy of Jacques’s legendary father, Gilles Villeneuve, after whom the observe in Montreal is called.

Through the years, the Canadian has by no means shied away from vocalising his criticism of Hamilton. After Hamilton joined Ferrari in the beginning of 2025, he struggled to adapt to the brand new automotive and staff. Villeneuve argued that the Maranello outfit had not received what it had signed.
“They don’t seem to be getting what they signed,” Villeneuve stated whereas talking to Sky Sports activities F1 forward of the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix. “So there might be some frustration in there from each camps – from the staff, from Lewis – as a result of he isn’t getting the automotive he was wanting.
