Initially describing the brand new laws as “System E on steroids”, Verstappen has argued that driving the brand new period of vehicles is extra about vitality administration than pure racing.

Along with his F1 commitments, the Dutchman is competing in GT3 endurance races every time he can. Final weekend, he raced within the Nurburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) alongside Daniel Juncadella and Jules Gounon on the 58th ADAC Barbarossapreis, the second spherical of the 2026 NLS season.

“He spent the entire time overtaking vehicles. He drove a brilliant GT automobile as properly final week within the pouring rain in Fuji. These are the GT500s. That is what I raced again in 2018, 2019, they’re a lot enjoyable to drive. He simply desires to leap in all the pieces, which is tremendous cool.”

When requested if endurance racing might rejuvenate the four-time champion and function a vacation, Button added: “No, I do not assume it is going to change his view on F1 proper now. What is going on to vary his view on F1 is when he begins successful races once more. However it implies that he has the discharge, when he goes and drives different vehicles, and he nonetheless has the chance to win.”
