Ten days after the inaugural Grand Prix or Arlington, IndyCar has decided that Kyffin Simpson needs to be issued an avoidable contact penalty for a Lap 69 incident, coming to a one-to-go restart.
The incident, which pressured the race to finish beneath warning, collected each Nolan Siegel and Romain Grosjean. Sequence officers have since decided that Simpson initiated the incident, and may have been issued a penalty. There was a stack-up and Simpson clearly turned Siegel into the wall, trying to keep away from him a second too late.
In consequence, the Chip Ganassi Racing driver has been dropped to the top of the lead lap, falling from nineteenth to twentieth within the remaining working order. Felix Rosenqvist, who was penalized for leaping the ultimate restart and dropped from sixth to twentieth, will now transfer as much as nineteenth.
