Former Formulation 1 driver and Sky Sports activities analyst Karun Chandhok has mentioned Dr Helmut Marko’s exit from Purple Bull Racing, reflecting on his time as a Purple Bull junior driver and Marko’s skill to be “daring when lots of people within the paddock had been conservative”.

Marko led the Purple Bull driver growth programme from its founding and was instrumental in bringing 16 drivers to F1, together with Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.
