IndyCar officers introduced the race distance for the Borchetta Bourbon Music Metropolis Grand Prix, rescheduled for two:05 p.m. CT July 20, has been lowered from 300 laps to 225 due to a forecast of file temperatures and a warmth index above 100 levels.
The race, which initially was scheduled for July 19, was postponed because of heavy rain, with climate alerts beginning at about 2 p.m. CT.

“All different procedures for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES race stay unchanged, together with the rule mandating every group makes use of no less than one set of major Firestone Firehawk tires and two units of alternate tires within the race,” IndyCar stated in a July 19 information launch.
Drivers get a well-known construction to the 2025 IndyCar collection season finale at Nashville Superspeedway, which featured 225 laps on the 1.33-mile concrete oval.
