New Royal Mint 50p coin celebrates 100 years of British racing historical past forward of Silverstone GP

Motorsport followers and coin collectors alike have a brand new piece of historical past to covet, as The unveils a particular 50p coin commemorating a century of the Grand Prix in Britain.

The commemorative coin was revealed at Brooklands in Weybridge, Surrey, the historic website that hosted Britain’s inaugural Grand Prix in August 1926, and was pictured alongside a traditional Delage automotive. This marks the primary event motorsport has been celebrated on an official UK coin.

Designed in collaboration with London-based company Interstate, the ‘tails’ aspect vividly depicts the evolution of Grand Prix racing. It incorporates a historic automotive from the unique 1926 Brooklands race alongside a futuristic 2026 System 1 automobile. A choose variety of these cash may also incorporate color.
