Corvette driver Dani Juncadella has been hit with a €5,000 nice for exhibiting his center finger to BMW rival Augusto Farfus throughout the World Endurance Championship finale in Bahrain.​Juncadella and Farfus have been locked in a chronic struggle over fifth place within the LMGT3 class, with the pair making contact at Flip 10 as Juncadella tried to overhaul.​The Spaniard ultimately accomplished the go at Flip 11 late within the seventh hour, however made it clear that he was unimpressed with Farfus’ sturdy defence by gesturing in the direction of the BMW driver.​Nonetheless, his motion was judged “inappropriate” by race stewards, issuing a €1,000 rapid nice and an additional €4,000 suspended nice, contingent on no additional breaches of Article 12.2.1.l of the Worldwide Sporting Code.​Of their judgement, the stewards famous: “Having reviewed the video proof, the stewards decided that, whereas exiting Flip 11, the driving force of Automobile 33 made an inappropriate hand gesture (center finger) in the direction of the driving force of Automobile 31.​“Contemplating the matter extensively, the stewards concluded that such behaviour is impolite, disrespectful, and wholly inappropriate in motorsport. The stewards subsequently determined to impose the penalty described above.”

 

The incident drew parallels to January’s Rolex 24 at Daytona, when Farfus earned the wrath of one other Corvette driver, Tommy Milner, for his antics.​Juncadella, who will step as much as Hypercar subsequent 12 months with Genesis, completed the race in sixth place within the #33 Corvette Z06 GT3.R he shared with Jonny Edgar and Ben Keating.
