Two-time Method 1 champion Fernando Alonso has been branded the GOAT (best of all time) by followers following a points-paying end on the Dutch Grand Prix.
After a difficult begin to 2026 for Aston Martin, which resulted in 4 grand prix retirements for Alonso and 7 for his team-mate Lance Stroll within the first half of the season, the Silverstone outfit launched in depth upgrades on the Hungarian and Dutch Grands Prix.
Alonso picked up his solely level earlier than the summer time break on the Monaco Grand Prix when a number of drivers have been penalised for dashing within the pitlane. Now, on the first race again after the August shutdown, the Spaniard has collected two factors with a ninth-place end.

A number of referred to Alonso because the GOAT. “Precise GOAT,” one posted, and another person wrote: “You’ll be able to’t spell Fernando Alonso with out G.O.A and T.”

Alonso now sits nineteenth within the drivers’ championship with three factors, stage on factors with 18th-placed Esteban Ocon. He sits forward of Yuki Tsunoda, who stepped in for Liam Lawson at Racing Bulls at Zandvoort, Lance Stroll, Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez, who’re all on zero factors.
